The Young Artists at @japanseattlesuzukiinstitute cracked the code of lead sheet arranging on their first day! Active bass line in 8th note octaves with accents/chops from the violas, pad double stops in syncopations from half the violins while the other violins shred the melody. Everyone looking at the same page of the lead sheet (melody in treble clef with chord letters above) Yeah, guys! That’s it!

The @stringspop students at the @suzukistringinstitute and the Alpas camp from the Philippine Suzuki Association last week learned all about music video production from the ground up! They crafted bass lines and harmonies to accompany melodies, improvised percussion textures, recorded their parts individually and then synced video footage on location to the final audio mix. Even Dr. Suzuki supervised some of the recording and made cameos in the video footage! Enjoy Cold Play’s “Viva La Vida” as performed by three sections of the StringsPop enrichment course at ISSI and PSA Alpas!
